    mission stories
A McDonald's restaurant in Noumea, New Caledonia. Georges Buama and his wife, Sophie, poked their daughter Catherine when the pastor spoke about McDonald's. She ate at McDonald’s every weekend in Noumea, New Caledonia. Catherine felt guilty. She knew that she shouldn’t eat at McDonald’s. But she didn’t know what to say, so she smiled at her parents. mission stories
A view of the new Tedine Seventh-day Adventist Church and children’s Sabbath classroom on the remote Maré island in New Caledonia. Land is expensive and difficult to acquire in New Caledonia, and this building was constructed on land donated by a church member to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. “God gave me, and I am only returning to Him,” the church member told Adventist Mission. The land used to be part of the property where the church member lives. The children's Sabbath School classroom takes up half of the building and was funded with the assistance of a Thirteenth Sabbath Offering in 2016. In all, the 2016 offering helped fund 28 children’s classrooms, also known as lamb shelters, in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and New Caledonia.
